Encanto Sing-Along Film Concert Tour set to thrill Disney fans

Here’s something that should make thousands of Disney fans smile today:

Disney Concerts and Live Nation have announced dates for Encanto: The Sing-Along Film Concert Tour, which brings to the Oscar-winning film “Encanto” to life in what’s described as a “one-of-a-kind concert event.”

The 32-city trek includes a stop in the Bay Area on July 21 at Concord Pavilion.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. April 29, livenation.com.

The show features a screening of the entire film as well as a live band performing all the tunes from the blockbuster soundtrack, which includes eight original songs by acclaimed songwriter/composer Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hamilton,” “Moana”) and an original score by Oscar-nominated composer Germaine Franco.

The soundtrack has been a huge smash on the charts, holding the No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200 for nine non-consecutive weeks. The multiplatinum hit single “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” sat atop the Hot 100 chart for five weeks.

Underscoring the chart dominance of this music, the soundtrack and song held the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 simultaneously for five consecutive weeks.

Note: Live characters do not appear as part of this event. So don’t take the family to the show expecting to see someone running around the stage in a Bruno outfit.
