ENNY Returns With New Tongue-In-Cheek Drop “No More Naija Men”

After a pretty hectic couple of years, including a multi-year run of well-received singles and live performances, the last few months were deservedly quiet and restful for ENNY. As it turns out, this brief pause was partly a much-need rest and recalibration, but also a spell of writer’s block.

That all came to an end when ENNY connected with Emil, the lo-fi rap producer behind gems for Knucks, Kojey Radical, Jaz Karis, Kadeem Tyrell and more. “No More Naija Men” was borne of that fruitful session and it sets her mile-a-minute flow against an uncluttered combo of jumpy bongos and an airy saxophone melody

ENNY also dropped a new visual to go with the track. Another typically sharp-witted video with a high production value, this time she’s once again called on Otis Dominique to realise her vision, the same director who gave us that understated video for her breakout hit “Peng Black Girls”.

“I had writer’s block at the end of 2021,” ENNY said in a statement. “Then I had my first session with Emil; he’d been playing through some sick beats. Then, I hear these beautiful bongo drums alongside four simple chords and I was sold. The head-bopping and writing began. This song is a processing of things observed and felt: conversations on interracial and intercultural love, and the ultimate conclusion that Nigerian men are mad. I want to keep alive the art of rapping and bring listeners into an unfamiliar yet familiar sound.”
