Thailand hotels are upping the ante and a quirky hotel is opening including a weird and wonderful space theme and a huge galactic water park with a space pirate beach

Brits heading on Thailand holidays can now book in for a stay that’s out of this world – but you won’t need to leave the galaxy.
That’s because an amazing space themed hotel is set to open its doors in Bangkok later this year, and it’s going to make for a pretty unique stay.
The Grande Centre Point Space Pattaya has an intergalactic theme complete with a space shuttle exterior and landscapes of outer space, as well as 490 rooms with aurora and star lights on the ceiling to give the impression you’re cruising through the Milky Way.
Every room has its own balcony with views of the Pattaya ocean, with sizes ranging from 45 to 133sq m.
Colourful headboard lighting designed to look like the Northern Lights, curved walls resembling a spaceship and galactic rugs ensure a stay in every room feels like a trip into space.
The Grande Point aims to provide guests with an experience that doesn’t feel gimmicky and low quality.
The flagship joint of the LH Mall & Hotel group also has a massive water park spanning 11,500sq m in four zones, including the intriguingly themed space forest and space pirate beach, which has white sand and realistic-looking waves.
Visitors can also float down the lazy space forest river through caverns, waterfalls, hot tubs and intergalactic jungles.
In the ‘flying rock zone’ kids can whizz along two water slides, while the kids club and games room also follow the space theme.
A giant tree in the centre of the water park dazzles guests with a special night-time light show.
Unlike tickets onboard Virgin Galactic, which initially cost £175,000 per trip, a room at the Grande Centre Point will set you back roughly £116 per night.
