Eric Trump, the Trump sibling who up until recently stayed in New York to run his father’s real estate company, was spotted at the Upper East Side townhouse of his late mother, Ivana Trump, the day after a British filmmaker revealed unsavory details about the dynamics of Donald Trump’s family and how they conducted themselves in the waning days of his presidency.
Eric Trump was apparently left with the unenviable task of overseeing the removal of his mother’s precious belongings from her five-story townhouse, including her furniture, walker and old Vogue magazines with her on the cover, according to the Daily Mail and New York Post. The walker and Vogue magazines were seen being loaded into a trash compacter.
Ivana Trump, the first wife of Donald Trump, died July 14 after she fell down the stairs in her opulent townhouse. The woman, who once embodied 1980s New York society glitz, was featured on the cover of Vogue’s May 1990 issue wearing a blue dress with a black and gold buckle, the Post said. “Ivana Trump’s Winning Style,” the magazine’s caption said.

Trump and his three oldest children, Don Jr., Ivanka and Eric, invited a new round of public scorn for the decision to bury the glamorous former executive in a grave near the first hole of the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. The choice of burial spot raised questions about whether the one-time real estate mogul was seeking tax benefits by using his golf club as a cemetery.
The sighting of Eric Trump came a day after documentarian Alex Holder, who spent time with Trump and his family before and after the 2020 election, revealed that “Eric seemed to be pretty scared” of his older brother, Don Jr.
Holder discussed his impressions of the Trumps during a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) online session Tuesday. For the Discovery+ documentary series, Holder spent a substantial amount of time with the Trump and his White House inner circle before the election and as they launched desperate efforts to keep Trump in office after he lost. Holder’s footage was subpoenaed by the House select committee investigating the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol riot.
Holder made it clear in the AMA that he does “not like” Donald Trump. When asked about the overwhelming sensation he felt in Trump’s company, Holder replied, “Deep terror.” He said there was something “mafia-like” in how he and his family conduct their business.
To Holder, Trump was “a deluded, irrational and dangerous man.” He also was an “insecure man who depends on external adoration.” Holder said Trump was “obsessed with how he looked” and wore “a huge amount of makeup” which he apparently took a couple of hours each morning to apply.
Holder said he believes that he and his crew were given access to the White House and granted interviews by Trump and his three oldest children because they were convinced Trump was going to win the election. Trump’s family also fed the former president’s “delusions” that the election was stolen and supported his legal and political efforts to hold onto power. Holder and his crew, however, were not present in the White House on Jan. 6.
When asked about “smaller moments” between members of the Trump family that surprised him most, Holder replied, “Eric seemed to be pretty scared of his older brother.”
When asked why Eric Trump would be scared of his older brother, Holder replied, “Have you seen Don Jr.?”
Holder said Eric Trump was “the friendliest” of the siblings while Don Jr. and Ivanka “are very similar to their old man.” Holder also said that Don Jr. spoke about one day running for public office, while his fiancée, Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former Fox News host and ex-wife of California Gov. Gavin Newsom, was “always loud” — not just when she is on TV or yelling her way through a political speech.
When Holder was asked whether he thought the Trump family cared about the average American citizen, he said that they only seemed concerned “about winning.” He said he was amazed to see how far they “were willing to go regarding the 2020 election” and to preserve the Trump brand name.
When Holder was asked if he saw any genuine love between the family members, he said, “It’s all about supporting ‘Dad’ at all costs. So a pretty unusual family dynamic.”
Eric Trump has continued to ardently support his father in interviews. Up until recently, he also stayed in New York to help run his father’s company, but he confirmed to Forbes last month that he, his wife, Lara, and their two children had moved to Florida, joining the rest of the family who headed south right after Trump left the White House.
Eric Trump notably pushed his father’s false claims that the election was stolen during his father’s Jan. 6 rally, which preceded the violence at the Capitol. Speaking at the rally with his wife by his side, Eric Trump urged House and Senate members to “have some backbone” and vote against finalizing Biden’s election victory. Lara Trump also got people in the crowd of Trump supporters too sing happy birthday to Eric, who turned 37 that day.
