Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra went viral after his team’s Game 2 win in the NBA Finals.
Veteran ESPN NBA reporter Ramona Shelburne asked Coach Spo about his team’s success with “turning Nikola Jokic into a scorer.” He clapped back with a pretty sour response, saying that view comes from an “untrained eye.”
“That’s a ridiculous … That’s the untrained eye that says something like that,” Spoelstra said. “This guy is an incredible player. Twice in two seasons he’s been the best player on this planet. You can’t just say, ‘Oh, make him a scorer.’ That’s not how they play.”

On Monday, Shelburne revealed that Spoelstra texted her after the press conference and apologized for his “rude” response.
“In the heat of the moment after a game like that when things are intense, people say things and nothing is personal,” Shelburne said.
Those in their feelings about Spo, he texted Ramona & apologized. It was in the heat of the moment. Y’all can move along now ???? https://t.co/iXj80sosEU pic.twitter.com/kMUBX32vi8

After notching his ninth triple-double of the postseason in Game 1, Jokic scored 41 points in Game 2 with just four assists.
Game 3 will tipoff tomorrow night in Miami.
