Erik ten Hag sees bright futures for Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Elanga and Scott McTominay at Manchester United and is confident he can raise their performance levels when he arrives at the club.

The Dutchman sealed the Eredivisie title with Ajax last week with the final game of the league season to be played today before the manager shifts his full attention to United.

With as many as 10 players in line to leave Old Trafford this summer, major changes to the squad are expected in the coming months with ten Hag reportedly keen to sign a centre-half, two midfielders and a versatile forward before the new season.

But while new faces are expected, ten Hag is also convinced he can improve some of the club’s younger stars on the training pitch, according to The Mirror.

The report names Sancho, Rashford, McTominay and Elanga as the players ten Hag is eager to work with having overseen the development of some of Ajax’s best youngsters in recent years during his time in Amsterdam including Frenkie de Jong and Mattijs de Ligt.

Ten Hag, Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren, the latter two of whom are set to join United as assistant coaches, met with United football director John Murtough last week.

The new manager could travel to London next week to watch United’s last game of the season against Crystal Palace from the stands at Selhurst Park where players will have the chance to impress ten Hag in person.

United are currently sat in sixth place with just one fixture of the season remaining.

West Ham United are in a position to leapfrog them however with two games left. Achieving that will consign United to a season in the Europa Conference League.
