Luke Shaw will undergo further tests after the Manchester United full-back limped off in the victory over Brentford.
The England international, who this week signed a new four-year deal at Old Trafford, started against the Bees on Wednesday night but last just 37 minutes.
Shaw headed straight down the tunnel after being replaced by Tyrell Malacia with what appeared to be a hamstring issue.
Asked for an update after the 1-0 win that came courtesy of Marcus Rashford’s strike, ten Hag told MUTV: ‘In this moment, I can’t give something about it because we have to wait for 24 hours.
‘Then you can make the right diagnosis. So I don’t want to comment in this moment.’
Ten Hag added in his post-match press conference: ‘I can’t say in this moment. I wait for tomorrow what is the diagnosis. I took him straight off and didn’t want to risk [it]. But we have to wait for the outcome.’
United recorded their first win in four league games having briefly fallen out of the top four following a dismal 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday.
After that defeat, ten Hag questioned the hunger of some his players but believe his squad delivered the right response against Thomas Frank’s side.
‘Absolutely [we showed more hunger], ten Hag said.
‘You see the approach is changing from all the teams when you go to the end [of the season]. The points are more expensive in the end.
‘It demands a certain mentality that when you don’t bring it on the pitch you get beaten in the Premier League.
‘When one or two can’t bring it then as a team you have a problem. That we saw on Sunday. Today was a performance I expect.’
United are back in action against Everton on Saturday afternoon.
