The 22-year-old is expected to arrive in the north-west on Monday night before undergoing the first part of his medical in order to sign for the club.
Antony has made no secret of his desire to move to Old Trafford and despite stating that they would not sell the Brazilian, Ajax caved on Sunday by accepting a club record fee for the midfielder.
Given Antony requires a work permit and visa, it’s unlikely that the Brazilian will be registered in time for Thursday’s clash against Leicester.
To do so, Antony’s move would have to be completed before midday on Wednesday in order for the Brazilian to be registered.
But in any case, Ten Hag wants Antony to have at least a couple of training sessions with his new team-mates before making his debut.
Should his transfer be completed by Wednesday, the plan is for Antony to make his debut against Arsenal on Sunday.
Antony is unlikely to start against the Gunners given he hasn’t featured in Ajax’s last two fixtures but he can expect a place on the bench against Mikel Arteta’s side.
