Escape to the Chateau’s Angel Adoree details clashes with Dick ‘Always prove I’m right’

Escape To The Chateau has returned to Channel 4 for an all-new series as Angel Adoree and her husband Dick Strawbridge continue to revamp their 45-bedroom home, Château de la Motte-Husson, in France. Despite the popular show now being in its eighth season, the couple are still far from finished with the renovation works. In a recent interview Angel candidly detailed what she and Dick disagree on and the peculiar way they deal with their issues.

The well-loved duo appeared This Morning to talk to presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary about the new season of Escape To The Chateau and their new book named Living the Château Dream.

Dick, 62, explained: “We had a ball writing it because we never agree on what happens.

“And so we’ve got Angel looking at the photographs and the facts and telling me, ‘No we definitely did this in 2016 not 2017.’

“I’m sort of [scratching my head] as my brain’s a bit frazzled.”

Angel, 43, chimed in: “I will go to any length to prove that I am right no matter how long it takes me.”

Dick joked that his wife has a well-organised spreadsheet to keep track of “all the bullet points” they need to go through.

“So whatever she says must be right because she owns a spreadsheet,” he quipped.

An unamused Angel told Alison and Dermot she wanted to set the record straight over the issue with ITV viewers.

The book delves into untold stories of remarkable discoveries in their 19th Century abode to help readers understand the true amount of work they have put into the home.

The couple have been living at the chateau with their two children for six years, having first purchased the property for £280,000 in 2015.

The stunning chateau boasts a total of 45 bedrooms, 78 windows, 12 acres and even a moat.

The chateau had stood empty for 40 years and had no electricity, heating or running water when they bought it.

Taking to Instagram to talk about their new book, Dick and Angel said: “It’s with great excitement that we can announce our new book Living The Chateau Dream.

“We can’t thank you enough for the love and support on A Year at The Chateau.

“We found writing it a true honour and, because of YOU, we have been given the opportunity to write its sequel!”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and Escape to the Chateau airs Sundays at 8pm on Channel 4.
