Later this evening, the No. 1 seed Denver Nuggets will host the No. 8 seed Miami Heat for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Just as they have been in every series so far this year, the Heat are listed as serious underdogs.
According to ESPN’s Matchup Predictor, the Nuggets have a 78.7% chance to claim victory in tonight’s series-opening game in Denver.
Two-time league MVP Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets are favored by 9.0 points. The Western Conference No. 1 seed has held home court in Games 1 and 2 in every series so far this postseason.
The Heat are in familiar territory as the underdog. Jimmy Butler and his squad were a 9/10-point underdog in Games 1 and 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, but ended up stealing both opening games in Boston. In fact, Miami was listed as the underdog in all but one game during their seven-game series against the Celtics.
Tonight’s game will tipoff at 8:30 p.m. ET.
