ESPN is reportedly demoting one of its top on-air talents.
The New York Post is reporting on Monday morning that Mark Jackson will be removed from the network’s top NBA broadcasting team.
ESPN let go of top analyst Jeff Van Gundy earlier this month. The network is reportedly going to replace the former NBA coach with Doris Burke, however, that’s not the only change coming for the broadcast.
Andrew Marchand reports that Mark Jackson will be demoted from the top broadcasting team.
“ESPN is closing in on promoting Doris Burke to the NBA Finals, demoting Mark Jackson and hiring Doc Rivers in the wake of the Jeff Van Gundy firing, The Post has learned,” he reported.

From the report:
This has left Jackson in peril.
Sources said Jackson could stay on and join play-by-player Mark Jones on the network’s second team. If he balks at that option, he could be headed out of ESPN.
ESPN declined to comment.
Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy formed a polarizing duo on ESPN’s NBA broadcasts, but they were always pretty entertaining to listen to.
Clearly, ESPN is choosing to go in a different direction with its broadcasts moving forward.
The move could be made official soon.
