Estate agent flips at protester as he’s confronted over ‘illegal eviction’ claim

A group of activists protesting at their estate agents claim that the director “attacked” them after he was confronted about what they call illegal evictions.

A video posted on Twitter on today (Thursday, April 21) by London Renters Union showed the fracas outside Eaton Green estate agents in Camberwell, South London.

The clip shows the group being escorted out of the premises when one of them appears to call the man, wearing casual clothes, a “w*****.”

One of the group said the man, whom she reffered to “angry Stoney man” in reference to his Stone Island sweater, was the director of the estate agents.

He pulls open the door after the group leave and says: “Hold on, what did you say?”

He then approaches the man who made the comment and the pair begin pushing each other before others step in on both sides.

A second member of estate agent staff is seen holding the group back as the two sides continue to shove each other, as the man who was first to react picks up what appears to be a wooden advertising board and looks set to use it as a weapon, before he puts it down.

He then looks to have a further confrontation with a female member of the group before backing down when asked: “Would you hit a woman?” The staff members both head back inside at this point.

Companies House lists a Cannur Osman as director of the business. His LinkedIn account states that he has been director of the estate agents since February 2008.

The post by the union stated that members had gone to the branch on Denmark Hill to confront them over allegations linked to an ongoing dispute with tenants before the melee broke out.
