Chris Eubank Jr enters the boxing ring on Saturday night to take on Liam Smith, the former’s first fight since his bout with Conor Benn was called off just days before the big night.

Eubank takes a 32-2 record into Saturday’s fight, which takes place in Manchester, but it will have been almost a full year since the Brit’s last fight, a victory by unanimous decision against Liam Williams in Cardiff in February last year.
The 33-year-old former world interim and super middleweight champion is the odds on favourite to extend his current winning record to seven wins in a row.
Saturday will be Eubank’s first fight back at Manchester Arena since his most recent defeat to George Groves back in February 2018, in which he lost his IBO super middleweight title and missed out on the WBA super middleweight belt.
34-year-old Smith is a former light middleweight world champion, and enters the bout with a 32-3-1 record.
The Liverpudlian last fought in September when he defeated Hassan Mwakinyo by TKO in his hometown, which took his win streak to three following his defeat to Magomed Kurbanov in Russia in May 2021.
