As more and more European travel restrictions are lifted heading into the summer, three more countries are doing the same, joining Greece, whose government recently announced that from May 1, travel restrictions would be scrapped.
Switzerland removed Covid-related travel restrictions
Since 2 May, 2022, the country has removed all Covid-19-related travel restrictions meaning there is much less hassle now to travel to the country of wonderful train rides, chocolate and alpine scenery.
No proof of vaccination, recovery or testing is required for entry.
Bulgaria scrapped travel restrictions from 1 May
On April 13, Bulgaria scrapped travel restrictions from several European and neighboring countries including Poland, Israel, Turkey and Serbia.
As of 1 May, it has decided to open its doors to everyone and as reported on the U.S. Embassy website, “travelers arriving to Bulgaria no longer must provide Covid-19 related documents to enter the country.”
Lithuania opened its doors to everyone
From 1 May, Lithuania declared that its borders are open for anyone, regardless of country of origin and regardless of vaccination status.
The Lithuanian Ministry of Health declared that “travellers arriving in Lithuania from anywhere in the world will no longer be subject to any Covid-19 management requirements: they will no longer need to take a COVID-19 test before travelling, even if they are ill or vaccinated, and will not have to complete a National Public Health Centre questionnaire.”
Domestically, the country has also dropped its mask requirement and the need for mandatory self-isolation once contracting Covid-19.
These three countries now join the growing list of European countries that have gotten rid of all travel restrictions related to Covid-19 and those that have scrapped the need for mandatory mask wearing.
