Mike Greenberg caused controversy when suggesting the Los Angeles Lakers should rest LeBron James and key players in Game 5.
As Greenberg predicted, the Golden State Warriors extended the second-round series with a home victory Wednesday night. Making matters worse for the Lakers, Anthony Davis left the game with a head injury.
While viewers initially roasted ESPN’s Get Up host for his bold opinion, they’re now wondering if he was right.
Maybe Mike Greenberg was right.

Mike Greenberg was right after all. Lakers should've listened to him.

Greenberg claimed the Lakers had “no chance” of eliminating the Warriors at Chase Center regardless of who played. Golden State validated that statement with a 121-106 victory despite James and Davis combining for 48 points.
However, that doesn’t necessarily mean NBA teams should start embracing load management in elimination playoff games.
Davis appears to have avoided a concussion and is expected to play in Game 6. He, LeBron, and the Lakers will have Thursday to rest before getting another shot to close out the series Friday night in Los Angeles.
