The newest bride from B-town, Athiya Shetty impressed with her fuss-free yet eye-catching look. Celebrity make-up and hair artist, Namrata Soni who has worked with leading actors from Sonam Kapoor to Rani Mukerji is responsible for Athiya’s look on her big day. The actress tied the knot with cricketer KL Rahul at Suniel Shetty’s Khandala bungalow, wearing an Anamika Khanna lehenga.
How Namrata came on board
I’ve known Athiya since the beginning of her career. I’ve done a lot of campaigns and magazine cover shoots with her in the past. Her team contacted me a few months ago and booked me for the wedding. We did a trial and decided on a look to go with her Anamika Khanna outfit in pastel pink. She wanted to look just like she is, almost like she wasn’t wearing make-up. It wasn’t a challenge with her because she has great skin and beautiful hair, all I had to do was enhance her features.
The final look
I used a bit of concealer and rose gold eyeshadow to highlight the eyes. I used a bronze kajal pencil around the lash line and above and below the eyes to give them depth. I also used tons of mascara. All the products used for the look were by Simply Nam.
For the cheeks I used a cream blush in the shade Partner in Crime, which keeps the skin dewy and fresh. For the lips it was a mix of two colours-Puneeta and Rani, followed by lip oil.
She wanted to look natural and that’s what we created for her. It’s so refreshing to see someone wanting to look like what they are and only enhance their features. Today the bridal market is OTT and cakey but Athiya’s look was ethereal and dreamy.
