Manvi Gagroo has risen to fame in recent years and proved herself as a performer. She has garnered a lot of success in the OTT space. As a complete outsider, it was not an easy journey for the actor to find work and learn the ways of the industry.
In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Manvi had a candid discussion about her journey from her struggling days to her views on the digital revolution. Upon being asked about her early days as an aspiring actress trying to land a role, she said, “I used to never wear makeup to auditions because I felt that the director should see me at my bare minimum.”
The actor continued, “If I made myself look very beautiful then people would not be able to picture me in the role of a not so pretty girl.” The actress wanted to have a clean slate for the director to work with.
She also shared another interesting part of her early audition journey, about how she always found asking the age of actors at auditions weird. She replied to one such query by asking, “Age kyu Janna hai, why is it so important?” Her reason was, “I look like the age of the character I am auditioning for how it matters what my actual age is?”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Maanvi Gagroo’s work in online series such as TVF Pitchers, TVF Tripling, and Four More Shots Please! are well-known. In 2019, she starred alongside Sunny Singh in the comedy film Ujda Chaman as Apsara, a plus-size woman. In the 2020 film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, she collaborated with Ayushmann Khurrana.
