Mad Cave Studios has announced that Papercutz, the all-ages comics imprint acquired by the publisher earlier this year, is coming to GlobalComix. The digital platform will host the full catalog of Papercutz titles, as well as new releases from the imprint going forward.
Papercutz joins a number of other publishers and imprints with titles already available to read on GlobalComix, including Heavy Metal, AWA Studios, and Humanoids. Mad Cave titles have been available to read via the subscription app since the beginning of 2022. For its part GlobalComix has had a strong year, reporting growth in terms of titles hosted, unique searches, and overall readership. The addition of the Papercutz titles to their library is a nice cherry on top.
In a statement announcing the news, Mad Cave founder and CEO Mark London and GlobalComix CEO/founder Christopher Carter both expressed their enthusiasm over the deal:
“Mad Cave and Papercutz are thrilled to be working with GlobalComix as we continue to expand our digital offerings,” said Mad Cave Founder and CEO Mark London. “Through Globalcomix’s innovative ways of offering accessible ways for fans to read comics, Papercutz will be able to share beloved characters like the Smurfs, Geronimo Stilton, Loud House and Casagrandes to readers worldwide.”
Christopher Carter, CEO & Founder of GlobalComix, shares, “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Papercutz and all their awesome comics to our community. I grew up reading Asterix, and having it on our platform has been on my bucket list since I started working on GlobalComix. I’m so excited to be able to offer all the same fun I enjoyed to our community along with oh so much more!”
Along with the GlobalComix news, Mad Cave also shared a tease for new Papercutz projects that are due out in the coming year:
Papercutz titles will be available to read via the GlobalComix app beginning in January 2023.
