Eileen wakes up locked in a room with noise-dampening foam on the walls. She can’t remember how she arrived there as her memory is practically erased. She sits chained to a chair that’s bolted to the floor. She can’t stand up. Ahead of her is a table, also bolted to the floor, with a single pencil sitting on top of it. “Move the pencil,” says a voice from an intercom from the roof. These tests become more and more difficult, eventually leading her to develop a serious prowess of her telekinetic power in order to save her family.
Control stars Sara Mitich as Eileen, George Tchortov plays her husband Roger, and Evie Loiselle plays her daughter Eve. Karen LeBlanc plays the voice of The Administrator from the intercom. It’s directed by James Mark, who also wrote alongside Matthew Nayman. Control is set to release in select theaters on September 23, 2022, and digital on September 27, but ahead of that, we have an exclusive clip to premiere.

“What are you doing?” asks Eileen in the exclusive clip. “Trying to get you out of this chair,” replies Roger. He’s attempting to help her complete a task, otherwise “they” — The Administrator — will kill their daughter. “You have an ability, and you need to use it, honey. We have a little more than a minute left to work a miracle so either you want to save Eve, or you don’t,” says Roger. She focuses and begins using her telekinetic powers to complete the task. You can watch it in full above.
Prior to Control, Mitich can be recognized for her work on Star Trek: Discovery, White Night, The Expanse, Ashes, and more. Tchortov is also no stranger to the screen and can be recognized for his role in Goon, and for stunts in RoboCop, Repo Men, and Kick-Ass.
The official synopsis for Control reads: “A mother locked inside a stark room is tasked by an unknown voice to complete increasingly difficult challenges if she wants to save her daughter’s life. As the frequency and intensity of the tasks threaten to overwhelm her, she must piece together half-remembered chapters of her life before imprisonment if she wants to secure her freedom, rescue her child, and escape this waking nightmare. Control is an intensely thrilling sci-fi mystery that will keep you guessing until the final moments.“
Control is a production of High Star Entertainment and Kemodo Entertainment.
