Being a remake of the Tamil film Ratasasan, Akshay Kumar starrer Cuttputlli opted for an OTT release. The superstar will be seen in the role of a cop. Accompanying him would be Sargun Mehta who makes her Bollywood debut with this murder mystery thriller. The actress will be seen in the role of a cop and needless to say, she is thrilled about making her debut with an interesting film. Speaking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, Sargun Mehta revealed why she waited for so long to make a Bollywood debut.

Sargun Mehta is not only a popular TV actress but also a renowned Punjabi actress. Talking about Cuttputlli to Bollywood Hungama, Sargun said, “It was a very interesting subject and I always wanted my debut to be a role which makes a difference to the story irrespective of the length. And above that, I was getting an opportunity to work with Akshay sir who is a brilliant actor.” Adding about her experience of working with Akshay Kumar, she shared, “Akshay Kumar is very organized as a professional. He’s very punctual and gets into the character thoroughly. He also chooses his subjects very carefully.”
Adding another feather to her cap, Sargun also turned producer with her actor-husband Ravi Dubey and the duo is currently producing the popular show Udaariyan on Colors. However, they are also one of the most popular onscreen couples. While the two of them met on the sets of a TV show, we wonder if they will return to the screen as a pair. Revealing the details about it, she added, “As far as me and Ravii working together is concerned, we may work in a reality show or an OTT project or a film in the future. As far as TV is considered, he or I have no plans to do a daily soap.”
The actress is also keen on pursuing her love for Bollywood films and her next aim is to do a film that releases in theatres. “We have all grown up watching Bollywood films but to watch it in theatre is still very exciting and entertaining. And every actor wants to do Bollywood and I also waited for the right debut. I want to strike a balance between Punjabi and Bollywood films,” she concluded.
Cuttputlli stars Rakul Preet Singh as the leading lady along with actors like Hrishita Bhatt, and Chandrachur Singh playing pivotal roles. Directed by Ranjit Tiwari, the film will release on September 2 on Disney+Hotstar.
