Ever since the Seattle Supersonics left to become the Oklahoma City Thunder fans have been calling for the NBA to add another team back in Seattle.
Well, that time might be coming soon. According to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA is close to bringing two new franchises to the league.
“I’ve been told that once the league gets done with these media rights negotiations – probably over the next year – then the league will start to look toward expansion,” he said this afternoon. “Certainly Las Vegas is going to be at or among the primary cities along with Seattle. There’s no question that the league has been migrating toward Las Vegas for years.”

As for when this could happen, Woj said the expansion could be coming soon.
“It is not far off. I think the expectation is there would be two franchises in the next round of expansion, but first they want to get that TV rights/media rights deal done.”
It certainly seems like the NBA will be joining the growing ranks of professional sports leagues with a team in Las Vegas.
