F1 drivers 2023 list: Main, reserves and test drivers, car numbers ahead of Bahrain GP 2023

F1 drivers 2023 list: Main, reserves and test drivers, car numbers ahead of Bahrain GP 2023

The
Bahrain
GP
2023
will
see
10
constructors
begin
the
race
for
the
drivers
and
constructors
titles
in
a
season
that
has
scheduled
as
many
as
23
races
for
the
season.

The
10
teams
for
the
seasons
are
the
same
as
the
last
season
with
no
new
inclusion
or
ouster.
They
namely
are
defending
champions
Red
Bull,
Ferrari,
Mercedes,
Alpine,
Haas,
McLaren,
Aston
Martin,
AlphaTauri,
Alfa
Romeo,
and
Williams.

All
10
constructors
took
part
in
the
last
week’s
F1
pre-season
testing
at
the
same
venue
where
the
first
race
is
being
organised
with
Red
Bull’s
Sergio
Perez
posting
the
quickest
time
across
three
days
at
1:30.305
seconds
on
the
third
day.

The
timing
was
already
quicker
than
Ferrari’s
Charles
Leclerc
qualifying
timing
of
1:30.558
from
last
year’s
Bahrain
GP.

His
teammate
and
two-time
reigning
champion
Max
Verstappen
didn’t
participate
on
the
third
day
of
the
testing
and
clocked
1:31:650
seconds
on
Day
2.

It’s
important
to
mention
that
pre-season
testing
results
are
irrelevant
to
the
qualifying
pace
of
a
race
weekend,
as
often
has
been
the
case
in
the
past.
However,
it
gives
a
good
idea
of
what
to
expect
from
teams,
especially
when
their
qualifying
laps
timings
are
considered.

As
far
as
the
main
drivers
for
the
seasons
are
concerned,
top
teams
in
Red
Bull,
Mercedes
and
Ferrari
haven’t
tinkered
with
their
line-ups
while
mid-table
teams
such
as
Alpine,
McLaren,
and
Aston
Martin
did
some
shuffling
with
Sebastian
Vettel’s
retirement
causing
some
movement.

There
will
be
at
least
three
rookie
drivers
in
action
this
season.
USA’s
Logan
Sargeant
was
roped
in
by
Williams
after
a
stellar
debut
in
F2
by
finishing
fourth
in
the
drivers’ championship,
including
feature
race
wins
in
Silverstone
and
Spielberg.

The
other
full-time
debutants
on
the
grid
include
Nyck
de
Vries,
who
will
replace
Pierre
Gasly
in
Alpha
Tauri
after
a
strong
season
in
Formula
E.
Oscar
Piastri
will
have
his
debut
season
as
well
after
spending
a
year
with
McLaren
as
a
reserve
driver
before
a
similar
stint
with
Alpine.
