The Citizens have already claimed the League title a week earlier and winning at Wembley would only take Pep Guardiola one step away from equalling Sir Alex Ferguson’s iconic treble.

Ferguson’s Manchester United achieved the feat in 1998/99, and City can get one step closer to that record before their Champions League final against Inter Milan. The Red Devils will surely look to stop that and the situation makes the tie an exciting match.
Ahead of the game, we have picked a combined starting XI from both teams. Of course, the team is dominated by the Premier League champions, but Manchester United stars also feature in the combined Manchester XI.
Goalkeeper: Ederson – Despite David De Gea clinching the Golden Glove in Premier League this season, the Spaniard’s form has been pretty inconsistent. Ederson on the other hand, has been pretty reliable between the posts, and clearly edges the United keeper in this position.
Defenders: Kyle Walker, John Stones, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw – Walker has been absolutely rock-solid in the right-back slot over the last few seasons and is clearly a better pick over inconsistent Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan Bissaka.
United’s Luke Shaw, on the other hand, has had a better season on the left flank and looks to be a better choice than any other options in this position. The England left-back mostly played in left center half position as well this season.
At the heart of the defence, Lisandro Martinez played a key role in United’s success this season and clearly deserves to be picked. John Stones playing as a ball-playing defender in the City system also has made a huge impact and deserves a shoutout in this list.
Midfielders: Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Fernandes – The selection between Rodri and Casemiro looks like a tough choice, but the Spaniard’s inclusion will surely benefit this combined team.
In the attacking midfield roles, De Bruyne, and Fernandes, who are the most creative players in the league, are easy picks for the Manchester Combined XI.
Attackers: Marcus Rashford, Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva – No other player that played on the left-wing has scored more goals than Marcus Rashford in England this season and he clearly deserves a place in this playing XI.
Bernardo Silva, on the other hand, has been one of the most creative players from the right flank and gets the nod ahead of the likes of Antony and Jadon Sancho in this team.
Erling Haaland, who has broken almost every goal-scoring record in Premier League this season, unsurprisingly earns a place at the center-forward position in this combined XI.
