The draw for the third round of the FA Cup – which sees Premier League and Championship clubs enter the competition – has taken place, with Chelsea’s clash with non-league Chesterfield the standout tie of the round.

Fifteen lower-league clubs and five non-league sides will play in the third round, with the champions of Europe pitted against a side from the fifth tier of English football.

National League North’s Kidderminster Harriers were the lowest-ranked club in the draw and they will take on Championship side Reading.

Current holders Leicester City kick off the defence of their crown with a tie against fellow Premier League side Watford, while Manchester United will host Aston Villa and Arsenal travel to Nottingham Forest.

Elsewhere, Liverpool have been handed a plum tie at home to Shrewsbury Town while Tottenham host Morecambe, but top-four chasing West Ham face a difficult test against Leeds.

The third-round matches will be played between 7 and 10 January next year. Here is the draw in full…
