Fairmont Chicago Launches Le Petit Chef, An Innovative 3-Dimensional Dining Experience

For something newfangled, immersive, innovative, and exclusive, why not try an animated dining adventure at one of the best hotels in the Windy City? Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park has partnered with TableMation Studios, producers of “The World’s #1 Culinary Experiences”, and launched Le Petit Chef, an energetic gastronomic celebration that is sure to delight everyone, regardless of age. While locations for this epicurean phenomenon include New York City; Beverly Hills; Napa; Austin; Washington DC; New Orleans; Royal Oak, Michigan and at sea with Celebrity Cruises, Fairmont Chicago is the only locale in Illinois hosting this experience.

Guests will convene in the intimate Cuvée Room at the lobby level to embark on an inimitable 90-minute thematic escapade, created with Skullmapping technology. With “The World’s Smallest Chef” at the helm, standing at a mere two and a half inches tall, guests will be walked through a curated five course tasting menu with optional wine pairings.

Expect the delectable courses to include Tomato Three Ways, with bold flavor brought on by herbs and spices; The Art of Carrots, complete with an interesting texture of quinoa granola; Chicken Roulade, created with bacon, pickled mushrooms, potato and cranberry; Grilled Filet of Beef, featuring spinach, mustard seeds, beets and chocolate; and Hazelnut Mille-Feuille, which is set on fire for a final gasp-worthy finale.

For a unique social redirection, this is a meal that encourages diners to take out their cellphones and capture the spectacle. Yes, while you’re eating. You’ll discover the history of the ingredients in your meal, learn about the preparation, and be inspired to create your own masterful dishes at home modeling the methods used at the Fairmont Chicago to make each dish.

Trained and amiable staff will deliver plate after plate, in sync with the animated story being told by the tiny digital chef, and while there’s a fair amount of entertainment to pay attention to, you’ll also have a chance to discuss among yourselves in between courses. In fact, you’ll likely want to exchange elated glances or commentary with the folks sitting next to you as well. Anything goes!
