Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth In Montreal Is Set To Feature A Sumptuous Cabaret Residency

Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth and Montreal-based contemporary circus company Cirque Éloize have recently joined forces to launch a sumptuous cabaret residency right off the lobby of the storied Fairmont property.

Inspired by the “poetic vastness of a starry sky,” Celeste takes hotel guests and locals alike and thrusts them in a “dreamlike nocturnal world” in the form of an opulent celebration of the vastness of the night sky and of the stars when they’re perfectly aligned.

The show is set to be equal parts mystery and glamour; with a combination of classic Montreal circus by Cirque Éloize as well as the traditional elements of cabaret that swirl together in a decadent and curious 90-minute event.

“We are excited to partner with Cirque Éloize to achieve our mission of becoming a comprehensive entertainment hub since our grand transformation in 2017,” said Philippe Champagne, Regional Director, Sales & Marketing, Eastern Canada, Accor.

Celeste will take place just steps from the main lobby of the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth; intentionally positioned right across the hall from the hotel’s well-loved Nacarat bar and just down the hall from the Rosélys restaurant.

“Celeste will perfectly complement Rosélys restaurant and Nacarat bar, two local hotspots for foodies and cocktail aficionados at Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth. This union was facilitated by our respective new realities and will offer an outstanding hospitality and performing arts experience that visitors and locals will love.”

According to Champagne, the Celeste performance will act as a pioneer in the space; The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth will be the first hotel in Montreal to offer entertainment within the property’s walls.

The one-of-a-kind immersive experience will take place in the 200-seat Agora and Centre-Ville rooms of the Fairmont. The overhaul of the former meeting and conference space comes as an initiative that the property hopes will help create a “Bellagio-inspired” residency feeling in the hotel; creating a resort or destination-like experience that will draw guests back into the downtown core of Montreal without having to travel outside of the hotel.

“Cirque Éloize is extremely proud to partner with the legendary and storied Fairmont The Queen

Elizabeth. We have combined our strengths of creativity and hospitality to offer this unique experience that will contribute to the relaunch of downtown Montreal’s arts and tourism scene,” said Jeannot Painchaud, President and Chief Creative Officer, Cirque Éloize.

The first season of Cirque Éloize’s Celeste will officially open to the public starting on December 16, 2021—with shows running four times a week until May 7, 2022. Further information on the innovative partnership as well as tickets are available now on the official Cabaret Celeste website.
