Two worlds collided – literally – when Britney Spears had a run in with security assigned to No. 1 overall NBA draft pick Victor Wembanyama this week.

The incident took place in Las Vegas, where Wembanyama will make his much-anticipated NBA Summer League debut on Friday.

According to TMZ, Spears tapped Wembanyama on the shoulder but was eventually struck in the face by security, knocking her glasses off her face.

Spears says that she was simply attempting to get Wembanyama’s attention to “congratulate him on his success,” and that she hasn’t received a public apology from Wembanyama, his security or the San Antonio Spurs following the incident.

Many fans are feeling for Spears after the situation.

“Out of ALL the ppl in the world, Wemby’s security team just had to put their hands on literally one of the most beloved persons on this planet,” one fan said.

“You see, everyone deserves an apology. This scandal between the athlete and Britney is an outrage,” another fan said.

“So sorry this happened to you Britney. There is no excuse for this and none of those individuals should offer one,” said one fan. “All they owe you is an apology. A profuse apology at that!”

Wembanyama was selected with the top overall pick in the draft by the San Antonio Spurs after years of anticipation, with some calling him the best draft prospect since LeBron James.
