LeBron James’ school, “I Promise,” is reportedly not doing well in the testing department.

The Akron-based school, which aimed to help the most at-risk students, is reportedly failing mightily in the standardized test department.

Eighth grade students at the school haven’t passed a single math test since the third grade, the Akron Beacon Journal reported.

“Not one? In three years?” Akron Public Schools board member Valerie McKitrick asked.

“It is discouraging,” responded Keith Liechty-Clifford.

LeBron obviously had great intentions with the school, though the results are not there.

“As a teacher in a low-income and underprivileged school, there are many factors that are out of teachers’ control. Yes, things can be improved, especially if Lebron is funding the school. But at the end of the day, there are sociocultural influences that make things difficult. This isn’t any one person’s fault,” one fan wrote.

“Maybe pay the teachers more and you’ll get better teachers. Good teachers are leaving the profession because it is just unsustainable and not worth what they have to go through for what they’re getting compensated,” one fan added.

“I’d be curious to know what the testing results are in other areas, and what the curriculum really is, are they more preparing these kids for life outside of school or are they actually trying to teach them scholastic lessons.

I’d also be curious how math is doing country wide these days because out of all the subjects in school I’d think that’s the one easiest to fall off of with the spread of the internet and cell phones since everyone has immediate access to a calculator at their finger tips almost 24/7,” one fan added.

The goal of LeBron’s Akron-based school is to target and help the young kids most in need of help and development.

Hopefully, the school can figure things out.
