Despite leading the Nuggets to an NBA championship on Monday night, Nikola Jokic wasn’t exactly jumping for joy during his final postgame press conference of the season.

When asked if he’s looking forward to Denver’s championship parade, Jokic admit that he’s not waiting with bated breath.

“No,” Jokic replied. “I need to go home.

Jokic would later add that winning an NBA title isn’t “the most important thing in the world” during Monday’s postgame presser.

“It’s an amazing feeling but like I said before, it’s not everything in [the] world… OK, I won it – not I, we won it – but I think it’s not the most important thing in the world, still. There’s [a] bunch of things that I like to do.”

Jokic seemed legitimately stressed out about the prospect of attending a championship parade on Thursday. With that said, NBA fans couldn’t help but offer their two cents on this situation.

“I respect Jokic’s commitment to work/life balance,” one person tweeted.

“You’re gonna never hear from Jokic ever again when he retires,” a fan said.

Another fan said, “I don’t think this is an act, IMO he just wants a nap and to get away from everybody. Has the earmarks of a guy who will retire shortly after his peak.”

Jokic was outstanding this postseason, averaging 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game.

Hopefully, Jokic uses his time off this summer to relax. He certainly earned a lengthy vacation.
