Fans tear apart Shubman Gill after images with Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne

Shubman Gill had a dismal outing with the bat in the WTC Final against Australia. The opener was underwhelming in both innings and failed to score important runs for Team India as they were beaten by a mammoth 209 runs.

Unlike Team India, English Premier League club Manchester City had a different outing when the Champions League final beckoned. Man City beat Italian club Inter Milan 1-0 to win the UCL title, thus completing a treble-winning season having won the Premier League and FA Cup already.

On Tuesday (June 13), Gill posted his photo with Man City stars Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne and congratulated them on winning the three titles.

“@ManCity congratulations on the Treble,” Gill wrote in the Twitter post with the pictures.

And seeing that, Indian fans became disgruntled. Although it was a normal post and the images also seemed taken after City’s FA Cup triumph, the fans took apart the young batter with some vicious reactions.

Some told the batter to concentrate on his batting, whereas another user sarcastically advised Gill to show some kind of remorse after the damaging defeat. A frustrated fan also asked when the Indian fans will be able to congratulate the players!

Here are some of the Twitter reactions to Gill’s post-

This user had strong words to say to Shubman Gill.

“Sorry but you guys are terrible. Went to England for fun and shopping. Played like a zero. Only meant for IPL now. Pretty sad. Oh one more thing heartiest congratulations on bringing laurels to the country and winning international games,” he wrote.

A fan then trolled Gill saying both Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland don’t know who he is! And we guess they may not be that wrong.
