Morocco made history when it became the first African team to reach the semi-finals in a FIFA World Cup following a 1 – 0 win over Portugal
The young girl was filmed after the match and said Cristiano Ronaldo was crying in his car because his team lost to Morocco.
Youssef En-Nesyri scored the goal of the game three minutes before half-time, much to the delight of Morocco fans out in the stands.
“Portugal airport is that way..and where’s Ronaldo? He’s crying in his car. Poor Ronaldo,” she said in the video, which has since drawn huge backlash with users calling her derogatory names.
@Mikaeel said he will not rest until she dies.
@Essss said she deserves the death penalty
“She should’ve celebrated without humiliating a football Icon. Young or old, everything you do has consequences; her parents should’ve known that, and she should’ve known that too. It was all fun when she said that while Ronaldo and his followers were hurt, she will be fine,” @Buthelezi1785 tweeted.
While many were tearing the girl apart, some fans defended her.
“I love Ronaldo 4 for what he has done 4 d game of football. When I watched d video of d little Moroccan girl, I laughed a lot, cause it was fun & beautiful, especially her expression in d video. And it was just football & fun. So, why would some wicked souls go & be bullying a child?” @kayode_william also tweeted.
“It was the journalist who asked her “where is Ronaldo” from the very beginning. It was a hook to use the little girl to mock on Ronaldo.” @AbdellahSadell1 also tweeted.
