Tucked away into La Mercerie’s private room last night, you’d find an intimate group of fashion and beauty tastemakers gathering to celebrate the launch of Fara Homidi’s latest project entitled FH Friends. Homidi admits that advice from a friend while she was creating her namesake beauty line inspired her to allow her community to participate in her work.
“That advice really unlocked something from me, which is why I think so many of you have been involved in the brand, in the brand story—from social media to creating products to campaigns to styling,” Homidi explains, gesturing to those around the table. Now, with FH Friends, Homidi seeks to bring that sentiment out into the world by inviting anyone to be a part of the brand ethos. The program seeks to incentivize repeat customers by providing exclusive access to future launches, discounts, and invites to future Fara Homidi beauty events.
Throughout the evening, guests sipped on cocktails by Yola Mezcal (including the aptly made FH Paloma). All sat for a three-course dinner featuring chicken and halibut; fresh florals and campaign cards marked with a QR code directing to a summer playlist created by Fara and Paloma lined the table.
“I feel so profoundly privileged to watch you grow and be in friendship with you; we all are very proud of you,” Paloma Elsesser, who was co-hosting the dinner, said to Homidi. Alex Harrington, Camilla Deterre, Cassandra Grey, Jill Kortleve, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Richie Shazam, Samira Nasr, Sara Larson, Tyler Mitchell, and Yohana Lebasi were also in attendance.
“So that’s why we’re here, and I am just so grateful that we have the sexiest room in New York right now; I think that’s definitive, and I love you all,” Homidi said with a smile. “You did say we are now friends with benefits, right?” joked one attendee. Homidi’s response? “Major, major benefits.”
