On Friday, January 13, Amazon Prime Video dropped the much-awaited trailer of its upcoming web series, Farzi. Besides being directed by Raj & DK, the audience was eagerly waiting for it because it will also mark the OTT debut of Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and South sensation Vijay Sethupathi. At the trailer launch event of the series, the makers and actors talked about various aspects of the making of it. During one such discussion, Shahid was asked to share his opinion on preparing for short-format and long-format characters.

Speaking of the latter, Shahid asserted, “You have to dwell deeper. There is more opportunity for an actor. I think when you are doing something short format, you can be more attacking in the way you approach the character, and sometimes that works very well. I have seen that. But, I have never been a fan of that.”
Elaborating his point further, he added, “I don’t like attacking characters. I like to pull people into the screen. I feel like it should be immersive. So this actually really suits me. Because that immersive experience is what I enjoyed as a viewer.”
Kapoor concluded his take by saying, “As an actor also that’s come very naturally to me. I want people to get engaged and involved and not supposed to shout and keep telling them – give me attention, it’s not my thing. So this allowed me to do that and I love the long format for that very reason. I felt very comfortable and I was actually looking forward to the opportunity.”
Talking about Farzi, the crime-thriller revolves around a small-time con artist Sunny (Shahid), who finds himself drawn into the dark while creating a perfect con. However, a fiery and unconventional task force officer (Vijay) has made it his mission to rid the nation of the threat he poses.
