Felines aside, fashion inevitably featured prominently in Leon’s vision for the video, which includes vintage looks from costumer and stylist Kiki Stash, custom pieces by Batsheva, dreamy floral gowns from Rodarte’s current collection, and Warby Parker eyewear. “When I met them, I asked who their dream designers were and they said Batsheva and Rodarte,” says Leon, who immediately approached both brands with his ideas for the girls’ looks. “They were all so game. Even when I explained that there was kind of a twist to Batsheva—we needed custom outfits for the girls, but we also needed to make matching outfits for the cats.” Makeup artist Valerie Vonprisk, meanwhile, was tasked with reinventing the cat-eye. “She nailed it,” says Leon. “The cat-eye makeup matched each girl to their cat.” The finishing touch? Matching wigs for the cats, all made by the band’s hairstylist Thy Mai.
Shot on an iPhone 13 Pro Max in the de la Garza family home, the video is a fun-filled, riotous back and forth between the teens and their feline fans, tackling themes of friendship and flying the nest. “It was really amazing,” said Eloise of the experience. “We didn’t know what it was going to be like but Humberto was like Mary Poppins, pulling things out of his bag.”
