Left-arm spinner Shams Mulani, who returned outstanding figures of 11-176 for Mumbai in their Ranji Trophy encounter against Hyderabad on Thursday, rated his performance even more special because his dad was there to witness it.
“My dad [Zakir] was here today [Thursday]. It is for the first time in two years that he has come to watch my bowling. It feels good to take wickets in front of him. I didn’t have a five-wicket haul in Mumbai, so it feels even more special to take it in front of my father and the people of Mumbai. I am happy that I could deliver what I’ve always been known for,” Mulani remarked.
Mumbai, who currently top Elite Group `B` with 13 points, will play their third game against Saurashtra at MCA’s BKC ground from December 27. India’s white-ball specialist Suryakumar Yadav is likely to be available for this game as well.
Mumbai will also be boosted by the inclusion of fit-again all-rounder Shivam Dube.
