We officially survived all three festival weekends out in the desert including back-to-back Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festivals and the Stagecoach County Music Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.
We’re back just in time to celebrate Star Wars Day on Thursday, May 4. So break out your lightsabers and let out your best Chewbacca growl as we roll through all of this Southern California music festival news.
The BeachLife Festival returns to Redondo Beach on May 5-7 with headliners The Black Keys on Friday, Gwen Stefani on Saturday and The Black Crowes on Sunday at Seaside Lagoon. Reporter Richard Guzman talked to Rome Ramirez of Sublime with Rome about the band taking part in the festival and paying tribute to Sublime’s “40oz. to Freedom” album during the event.
Reporter Michael Hixon spoke with BeachLife Festival promoters and shared a how-to guide for the three-day fest.
Just as we were packing up to head out to the first weekend of Coachella, the Ohana Festival lineup, with The Killers, Eddie Vedder and Foo Fighters, dropped. There are still tickets available to the three-day festival, happening Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at Doheny State Beach. Here’s what you need to know.
Back in March, the lineup for the inaugural Bleached Festival in San Diego was announced with Joji, Leon Bridges, Omar Apollo, PinkPantheress and more. Last week, the festival revealed additional talent including Cannons, Yves Tumor, Remi Wolf, Ethel Cain, Lily Meola and Subtle Orange. Find out how to get tickets here.
The 15th annual Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio on April 28-30 was a scorcher. It was probably the hottest consecutive three days we’ve experienced covering the event, with temperatures ranging between 103-105 degrees each day.
Despite the heat thousands of fans enjoyed sets by headliners Luke Bryan, Kane Brown and Chris Stapleton. They also attended cooking demos and ate samples of barbecue over in Guy Fieri’s Stagecoach Smokehouse, cooled down in the air-conditioned Honky Tonk with DJs like Dillon Francis, Girl Talk and Lost Frequencies, and kept the party going over at Late Night in Palomino with Trixie Mattel, Nelly and Diplo. Even the cast of the hit TV series “Yellowstone” hung out at the festival on its final day.

While some of the team was out covering Stagecoach, reporter Peter Larsen attended both days of country music icon Willie Nelson’s 90th Birthday Bash at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Before the once-in-a-lifetime concert event, I spoke with the producers about how they pulled the shows together and rounded up big-name talent like Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Gary Clark Jr., Chris Stapleton, Snoop Dogg, Dave Matthews, Keith Richards, The Chicks, Emmylou Harris and many, many more.
