Happy Thursday!
It’s finally here! Summer!!!☀️
And while we’re not quite feeling that heat just yet, the concert calendar is stacked.
Reporter Holly Alvarado compiled a massive list that includes 30 ginormous concert tours rolling through Southern California this season. Find out who is coming to town and how to get tickets here.
We also have so many festivals headed our way. Holly put all of those together in a nice little package, too. Check out the list of music festivals still to come in 2023 here.
Speaking of music festivals, there’s a brand new one that didn’t make our list last week as it was just announced on Tuesday, June 20.
If you were banking on a slower, quieter fall music festival season in Southern California, think again. Get ready to open up your wallets and throw money at the Darker Waves Festival, an ’80s rock fest coming to Huntington City Beach in Huntington Beach on Saturday, Nov. 18.
Promoters Live Nation announced that the single-day event (which is very similar to Goldenvoice‘s highly-popular Cruel World Festival in Pasadena) will be co-headlined by New Order and Tears for Fears. The B-52s, Echo & The Bunnymen, Devo, Soft Cell, The Psychedelic Furs, Violent Femmes and more will also perform.
The presale begins on Friday and judging by the amount of my own friends who shared this festival news on their social media sites, it will sell out very quickly. A general admission ticket will set you back about $199 (with fees, of course) and if you want the Ultimate VIP experience, you’re looking at $1,750-plus. Holly breaks down all the details for the presale and how to get the exclusive passcode here.
Southern California-based production company Insomniac Events, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, is bringing its house music Day Trip Festival back to the waterfront park at The Queen Mary in Long Beach on June 24-25.
The two-day event is super sold out, however Insomniac has some tips on how to score legitimate passes in the resale market. Reporter Richard Guzman has more if you’re looking to buy tickets or if you’re set and ready to dance your way to the fest later this week.
