Happy Thursday!

The 11th annual Viva! Pomona festival will takeover The Glass House on Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16. The DIY fest was created by Pomona native Rene Contreras who spotlights up-and-coming talent in a wide variety of genres, as well as emerging Latin artists.

Some early Viva! Pomona acts like DannyLux, The Marias, Chicano Batman and Omar Apollo have gone on to headliner status and play larger-scale events like the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, where Contreras also curates the popular Sonora Tent. Read Holly Alvarado’s interview with Contreras here.

Holly also caught up with the festival’s Saturday headliner, El Monte-based trio The Red Pears. Read that interview here.

????????‍???? Punk in the Park single-day lineups

The third annual Punk in the Park Craft Beer and Music Festival at Oak Canyon Park in Silverado posted the daily lineups for its two-day event on Nov. 4-5.

⚡ Power Trip shakeup

We were hoping Ozzy Osbourne would have it in him to headline an evening at Power Trip in Indio in October. On Monday, July 10, he shared that he’d be dropping out of the three-day metal and rock event that also features Metallica, AC/DC, Guns ‘N Roses, Tool and Iron Maiden.

The 74-year-old Black Sabbath frontman has had numerous health issues, including battling Parkinson’s disease, that have sidelined him from touring and performing full sets since he rang in 2019 during a New Year’s Eve edition of Ozzfest at Kia Forum in Inglewood.

On Tuesday, festival promoters at Goldenvoice said that metal Gods Judas Priest would replace Osbourne on the bill. Get more information and find out how to get tickets to Power Trip here.
