New HyperMotion feature comes to FIFA 22

Popular FIFA streamer, Castro_1021, has been permanently banned from the FIFA 22 FUT transfer market, despite being a part of EA Sport’s Game Changer programme.

Castro_1021, also known as Castro, is one of the most popular FIFA gamers on Twitch – a live streaming site that focuses predominately on video games.

With a huge following of 3.3 million followers, Castro found himself in disbelief during a broadcast on Thursday evening when he received a message in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, notifying him he was permanently banned from the FUT transfer market due to alleged FUT coin distribution.

Selling in-game currency to other FIFA players in FIFA Ultimate Team is banned by EA, with the company having claimed the selling of FUT coins causes inflation in-game as the users haven’t earned the coins through gameplay.

Buyers gain coins in FIFA 22 by listing a player on the transfer market at their maximum coin value to be purchased by the seller, and if caught by EA, both parties will receive permanent bans from the transfer market – if not bans from FIFA altogether.

In the stream on Thursday evening, Castro was playing FIFA 22 when he experienced server connection errors as he accessed the transfer market.

After a couple of attempts to access the market again, a message appeared, declaring the streamer was permanently banned from the FUT transfer market, with the reason being FUT coin distribution.

This meant that Castro could no longer buy or sell any items on the FUT transfer market, ultimately leading to a large reaction from the streamer.

“What?! Permanently banned? Castro screamed.

“The day before Team of the Group Stages! I just dropped 300k FIFA points on Black Friday, and you think I’m coin distributing?!”

Castro’s automatic reaction was about the upcoming Team of the Group Stages (TOTGS) release, which is set to drop in FIFA packs on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 18:00 GMT.

The ban could seriously impact Castro’s impact to release of his usual FIFA content, with trading being a major part of the 30-year-old’s streams.

The ban does come as a surprise though, with Castro being an EA Game Changer.

A Game Changer is a community partnership programme that uses expert players and content creators, such as Castro, for feedback on the games in an effort to help the game’s development.

Game Changers also get early access to gameplay, something which Castro benefitted from before the release of FIFA 22.

If this ban is a genuine mistake due to Castro’s excessive use of the transfer market, it could easily be reverted in the coming days.
