FIFA 22’s PL Team of the Season revealed – Fernandes is in but no room for Kane

The EA SPORTS Premier League Team of the Season has been revealed.

The FIFA 22 ‘TOTS’ squad was revealed and released into packs at 6pm on Friday.

The 15-man squad features six Liverpool players and five of the Manchester City squad, which highlights how impressive they’ve been this season.

The final squad was chosen by the FIFA community and includes the likes of Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, and Heung-Min Son.

Liverpool’s Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, and Sadio Mane are included, as well as Manchester City’s Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo, Rodri, and Bernardo Silva.

Manchester United’s talisman Cristiano Ronaldo is in, as well as, perhaps controversially, Bruno Fernandes, despite the midfielder not setting the Premier League alight this season.

West Ham’s Declan Rice is the only player not in the division’s traditional ‘Big Six’ that has made the squad, after his impressive performances in east London this campaign.

One shock omission is Harry Kane, who has been in five of the last six FIFA TOTS squads since FIFA 15.

Despite starting the season slowly, it’s surprising that his form in the second half of the season under Antonio Conte hasn’t been enough to secure him a place in the team.

However, there will be an SBC (a squad-building challenge where players can earn rewards) which includes Kane as a TOTS player. Phew.
