32 teams are divided into 8 groups of 4 teams with each team facing the remaining teams of their respective groups in single round-robin format. The top two teams at the end of the group stage will progress to the knock out stages.

The knock out round will feature round of 16 followed by the quarterfinals, semifinals and the final. The groups stages, the will consist of 48 matches, concludes on August 3 and following a day’s break the knock out round starts on August 5 and concludes on August 20 with the final.
A total of 64 matches will be played in the space of a month across ten venues – six in Australia and four in New Zealand. One semifinal will be held in New Zealand, while the other semifinal, third-place playoff and the final will be hosted by Australia.
