Cat-astrophe was averted in Shelley last week after kittens became trapped inside the wall of a home.
The drama for the three three-week-old kittens began on April 25, when the RSPCA WA and firefighters were contacted about a distressed kitten inside the roof.
It took about an hour to free the tiny feline, dubbed Meggsi, who was cold and dehydrated but otherwise unharmed.
Then, on April 27, RSPCA WA was called for help again at the same property after meows for help were heard coming from behind a brick wall.
Power tools and plenty of patience were used to free two more kittens, a little dusty but otherwise unharmed.
They have been named Blaze and Spark.
All three are being looked after at RSPCA WA in Malaga, where they received a vet check-up and a warm meal before being adopted by mother cat Bombora.
They joined her existing litter of five, but a spokesperson said Bombora was feeding and caring for the new additions as if they were her own.
The litter’s mum was unable to be found but the spokesperson said they were hoping to bring her and any more kittens who may be at the property into care as soon as possible.
The RSPCA WA has more than 125 cats in care and is in desperate need of foster carers; visit rspcawa.org.au/foster-care.
