The Channel 4 star captioned the snap: “Final year 1 scan results are in, and it’s ALL CLEAR for now.

“Nice. Thank you NHS.”

Merlin was soon inundated with support and celebration from fans and celebrity friends alike.

TV chef James Martin commented: “Brilliant news fella just brilliant. See you at the house and stay for a glass or four.”

With the same enthusiasm, Merlin responded: “Thank you James. You’ve been a big part of my positivity the last few years mate,” with an emoji of clinking glasses.

The famous bartender has been candid about his battle against bowel cancer after being diagnosed in 2021.

In April, Merlin appeared on ITV in a tell-all interview with Lorraine as part of the No Butts campaign which was started by the late Dame Deborah James.

He explained that in April 2021 the symptoms of his cancer began to truly manifest, describing it as “crushing exhaustion” and “big changes in bowel habits”.

Merlin urged people to be “comfortable talking about this with your doctors” adding later in the conversation that as someone who has been diagnosed with bowel cancer “you get very comfortable talking about it”.

The father-of-one got very candid during the live interview, showing off the scars from the two operations he underwent as part of his treatment.

Merlin officially finished his treatment last year, with the latest updates being part of his one-year check-ups.

He explained on the show: “It’s a really important milestone for anyone going through this is that first one year of scans, they take blood tests, CT scans, colonoscopy and so on.

“They check you and you’re looking for this no evidence of disease, or no cancer seen which is for now all clear and we’re into the five year monitoring.”

Along with his new CT scan results, Merlin has also been given the all-clear on blood tests and his colonoscopy so far.
