Flight attendant shares what food she brings when travelling
Going on a long flight is never the most comfortable of experiences, but it can be even worse if your stomach is growling at you halfway through.
Luckily, a flight attendant on TikTok named Kat Kamalani, @katkamalani, has put together a list of all the foods she takes with her whenever she boards a lengthy flight – which could help you on your next exhausting trip.
In her video, Kat said: “Whether I’m travelling for business, my family, vacation, or work, this is what I bring every time.”
Kat explained she puts all her items inside an insulated bag and places an ice pack on top of her food to keep everything chilled.

The woman also always makes sure to bring a water bottle to “stay hydrated”.
She then added: “First up, I always make sure I bring veggies and a piece of fruit.
“Next, I always have to have something that curbs my sweet tooth when travelling. I love these SkinnyDipped travel packs, and I love that they’re full of clean ingredients.”
Many of Kat’s snacks were protein based to help her keep up her energy on a long flight, with some items even being homemade – which she included the recipes for.
She said: “In case there’s any delays, I always bring a stack of protein bars.
“I love to travel with protein items like these protein balls. I also never leave the house without my protein waffles, because they’re so fulfilling and nourishing.”
Kat’s protein ball ingredients
- 25g pumpkin seeds
- 25g chia seeds
- 25g hemp seeds
- 120g oats
- 200g almond butter
- 100g honey
- 35g protein
Kat’s protein waffle ingredients
- 30g oats
- 3g baking soda
- 30g protein
- 60g Greek yoghurt
- 1 egg
- 45g courgette
- A dash of salt
- A dash of vanilla
- A dash of stevia
And finally, Kat says she always brings a few hard-boiled eggs for even more protein, which she either has with a salad or eats on their own.
Kat’s video has been viewed over 9,000 times, and people can’t get enough of her travel food hacks.
One person wrote: “Gotta keep that protein intake up!”
While another said: “I use frozen water bottles to keep my food cold but can’t wait to try that headache bottle this weekend!”
To which Kat replied: “It’s a game changer!”
