A Florida man wearing a cat costume was arrested after allegedly stabbing his roommate in the neck.

Police were called to a home in Gainesville on Tuesday after a man called 911 to report that he had been stabbed in the neck, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office said.

In a video posted on Facebook, Capt. Chris Sims said two deputies “forced their way inside of a home where the stabbing victim lay on the floor bleeding and the suspect was still inside that residence and potentially armed.”

The video showed police bodycam footage in which officers are seen at the doorway talking to the bleeding victim, instructing him to walk out of the house.

They then repeatedly call out for the suspect — identified as Omar Gutierrez — to come out with his hands in the air.

He eventually walks out with his arms raised, wearing what appears to be a grey and white onesie cat costume.

“We exchanged Gutierrez’s cat costume for a green and white striped jump suit.” the sheriff’s office shared on Facebook.

Gutierrez, 32, was charged with one count of attempted murder. He is being held at the Alachua County jail on $1 million bond.
