The parts fit 2021-2023 half-tons with the 5.0L V8 engine

Blue Oval gearheads pining for a pickup truck with GT500-like horsepower count but not the six-figure price tag may have found a solution in the Ford Performance catalog. Released earlier this week, this new kit will endow a 2021-2023 Ford F-150 equipped with the 5.0L V8 engine with a gobsmacking 700 horsepower.
That’s Raptor R territory, for anyone not paying attention. Torque also gets a boost during this install, checking in at 590 lb-ft of the stuff, suggesting jumps of power and twist over stock by roughly 300 and 200, respectively. These improvements are courtesy of a 3.0L Whipple inverted twin-screw supercharger the size and shape of a loaf of bread, plus the attendant intercooler and calibration tools. The works of it is warrantied by Ford for 36 months or 36,000 miles, provided owners have had the kit properly installed by a Ford Dealer or ASE certified technician. Hammering the thing onto yer truck over the weekend between lagers and pizza slices doesn’t count, apparently.

Unlike the wealth of stories elsewhere on the internet which simply regurgitated basic info, this supercharger is indeed compatible on trucks both with and without Ford’s nifty ProPower Onboard feature. The part numbers for the kit are different for trucks avec and sans ProPower, but the option is there.
Another often overlooked detail is the fact that Ford Performance will gladly sell customers just the supercharger and its attendant parts for $9,500 USD, meaning there’s no need to buy the $12,300 USD kit which includes non-performance parts like body decals, fender badges, and a unique grille. We’re all for saving money — and besides, it’s better to build a sleeper, right?

Note well: this kit may be applied to any 2021-2023 F-150 with a 5.0L V8, meaning it is possible to slap it on a base regular cab XL. They’ll even let you do so using two-wheel drive, though we heartily recommend opting for a limited slip rear diff if you go that route. After all, one-wheel peels are the vehicular equivalent of one hand clapping, right? Shod with a short 6.5-foot box and slathered in a jaunty shade of Race Red, we finally might just have a spiritual successor to the OG Lightning.
We will reach out to Ford Canada and see if there is canuck pricing for this kit, but there’s technically nothing stopping a person from getting it installed stateside — making sure to properly declare it at Customs on the way home, of course. We’ll also mention this product is listed as emissions compliant in all 50 states but says nothing about Canada.
