An emotional Erin Molan has described how she will be “forever broken” following the death of her father, posting a heartfelt tribute on social media.
Senator Jim Molan died peacefully among his family earlier this month following a battle with prostate cancer.
He was laid to rest during a moving service at the Royal Military College at Duntroon earlier this week during which the Sky News Host described her dad as her “hero” who she idolised her whole life.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, she thanked her supporters for their messages of support over the last several weeks.
“We all knew how we felt about dad but to have so many people share such beautiful words and memories has blown me away … and I know dad would have been supremely chuffed,” she said.
“I promise I will get back to every single person who has reached out… it just might take me a while.”
Senator Molan is survived by his wife Anne, four children and five grandchildren.
Erin Molan and her sister Anne and Sarah addressed Senator Molan’s funeral in Canberra last week in a ceremony attended by Governor-General David Hurley, former prime ministers Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison and opposition leader Peter Dutton.

Erin on Sunday posted a picture alongside her brothers, sisters and father, adding: “We are forever broken without Dad but he taught my siblings and I that we can endure anything life throws our way… even this.
“Not sure how right now but I know we will… because as he’d tell you himself… he was seldom ever wrong.”
Prior to entering politics, the Senator’s military career spanned 40 years and has been credited as one of the architects of Operation Sovereign Borders – a hard line military-led policy to deter asylum seekers arriving by boat.
He entered parliament in 2017 after Fiona Nash was disqualified over her dual citizenship.
In 2019, he was relegated to the unwinnable fourth position on the Liberal Senate ticket but was later appointed to the casual vacancy caused by the departure of Arthur Sinodinos.
He was re-elected to the Senate at the 2022 federal election.
