Former Italy star Antonio Cassano has blasted Romelu Lukaku and says he would stop watching Barcelona games if they ever signed the Chelsea striker.
Lukaku has endured a miserable season, scoring just five goals in 23 Premier League appearances following his £97.5m return to Stamford Bridge last summer.
The Belgium international thrived at Inter Milan before returning to Chelsea and has admitted in several interviews that he misses the Italian club and wants to play for them again in the future.
Cassano has aimed a brutal dig at Lukaku, claiming he ‘can’t pass’ and saying he would boycott Barcelona games if the striker ever arrived at the Nou Camp.
Speaking on BoboTV, the former Roma, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Sampdoria star said: ‘I’m in love with Barca’s philosophy, but if they sign Lukaku I won’t watch a game anymore.
‘He can’t play three passes with Chelsea where he has no competition, at Barcelona they play 55 passes before going for goal, how could he do it?’
Lukaku’s dip in form has seen him drop out of Chelsea’s starting XI and he struggled after coming off the bench in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United in midweek.
Old Trafford legend Roy Keane was left bemused by his cameo performance, telling Sky Sports: ‘He’s come on against Man United, he was here, so you think, “I’ll show them my qualities”.
‘He came on and again, just ambling along, not that determination to get himself a goal. As much as his fitness levels, I think his attitude doesn’t seem right.’
