As a replacement for the likes of Roger Feutmba and Bennet Mnguni, it did not take long for Nunens to become a young superstar under Ted Dumitru and Paul Dolezar.

Unfortunately, the Potchefstroom-born player never quite elevated to the levels he was capable of reaching.

SOCIAL LIFE AND ILL-DISCIPLINE

Asked how he lost tons of money through alcohol and women, Nunens revealed that having too many “friends,” women and children resulted in his financial dispair.

“I lost a lot money on alcohol. I didn’t just buy for myself. I was also buying alcohol for a lot of people,” Nunens said.

“Women? There’s a lot of women when you have money. I was busy with white and even Chinese women.

“Football makes you travel a lot. I had a lot of madams from different places. I have seven kids,” the former Sundowns midfielder added.

Nunens concluded by saying he was later moved to Bloemfontein Celtic, where he was not kept due to his high salary and the impregnation of the club’s secretary.
