The Suns turned the rest of the NBA on its head this past Thursday, acquiring Kevin Durant from the Nets right before the trade deadline.
As part of the deal, Phoenix sent Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and four unprotected first-round picks to Brooklyn.
Bridges spoke to the media this Saturday about this blockbuster trade centered around Durant. Believe it or not, he’s at peace with the Suns’ decision.
“It’s KD, I get it,” Bridges said, via Kristian Winfield. “I would rather get traded for KD than someone I didn’t feel was good. … It’s Kevin Durant. I would probably make that trade, too.”
This is a really mature response from Bridges.
At the end of the day, the Suns only parted ways with Bridges because it resulted in them landing an elite player in Durant.
Whether it’s fair or not, the Suns need to win a title in order to justify this trade.
